Two gannets locked in a long and vicious fight, bleeding from the beak and neck as they wrestle for the higher ground. On the left the gannet is on the defence with a fearful look in its eye. On the right you'll notice one of them has a completely black eye, not an injury but the result of surviving the lethal avian flu, the bird has clearly seen better days. Shot on Bass Rock, Scotland.
