Captured deep in the Madidi on a two week trek through mountainous rainforest, this image shows a pair of Scarlet Macaws sharing a moment of affection in the canopy. The photo was taken above a remote clay lick, where macaws gather on the cliffsides to feed on mineral rich clay.
Perched on a tree growing out over a sheer drop, the pair started to preen and bill one another.
