After hearing owls in the night, three nights in a row while camping in southern Scotland I was determined to find them. Being a nocturnal species, I was suprised to see this tawny owl awake before sunset. I was able to finally get a clear shot between all the trees resulting in this stunning and detailed image of the tawny owl in its dense forested habitat.
