While walking through the cloud forests of eastern Peru, i heard the unmistakeable helicopter like sound of a hummingbird fly past me, this species is the largest of all hummingbirds, roughly the size of a starling. Not being remotely scared of humans it landed on a nearby branch and i was able to get this incredibly detailed portrait.
