I came across hoatzins almost every day in the Amazon. Known locally as stink birds, they are the only birds that ferment vegetation in their digestive system - like a cow. Producing the methane that gives them their name.
They're impossible to mistake for anything else. With their wild crest and prehistoric appearance, they look more like a dinosaur than a bird.
